Haylei graduates high school...

Time flies and so you see this as you watch your own children grow. This time my oldest brother, Brian, was noticing the reality of this all too well.  His oldest, Haylei, was graduating high school from Jefferson City on 5/21/2010. The family met up at Madison's in downtown Jeff City for an early dinner, took some pics and then off to the ceremony. It took place on the football field for the Jays. It was a beautiful field and a beautiful evening. A young man gave a wonderful speech - about seizing the moment because you never know when life will slip by. How true that is...we live as if there will always be tomorrow, but deep down we know that one day tomorrow will not come. But tonight was about opportunity...Haylei has always made very mature decisions, even as a younger girl. Her current decision is to go to Lincoln University (in Jeff City) for about a year and then transfer to MU; possibly get an accounting degree.

Adeline cheesing it up!  ;)
Several weeks prior to the graduation I was going through some old letters, cards, etc. I ran across a letter that Peggy (Haylei's mom) sent out to everyone after her birth...an announcement. It was so sweet. As I read it, I too, couldn't believe that 18 years had passed. I decided to give it to Haylei at her graduation. To show her how proud her family was of her then and how proud we still are today.
