After church, someone from the Children's church side came to get me, saying Addy had been hurt. I hurried over there and Danita, the Director of the Children's church, looked at me and told me it was bad.
Huh?
There was my sweet baby girl ~ standing ~ crying, almost hyper-ventilating from pain ~ blood all over her shirt, hands, face and mostly head.
She was running around with a friend, Ty, and unfortunately must have tripped and hit her head on the edge of a half-door (wooded).
(this picture was taken a couple days later - already looks SO much better!)
The gash was pretty deep. We kept a wet cloth on it and immediately took her to the ER (St. Joe's) which was only a few minutes away (thankfully)! She cried the whole ride there saying she didn't want to go to the hospital, "it's scary there". So, we just told her we were going to find a doctor, that's all.
When we pulled up, she quickly questioned the big building and I explained to her how her pediatrician (Dr. Agolia's) office was also in a big building and that was OK. She seemed to go along with my story... After all, it is technically a health center and doesn't have the words hospital "officially" labeled to it.
They got us in quickly.
The doctor opted to glue it together (after a bit of numbing) vs. actual stitches. From what I hear, this will be better for scaring. Less scaring, that is.
Addy was SO very brave throughout the entire ordeal. So proud of her as I can only imagine how much that had to hurt.
Love her so much. Very thankful for hospitals (aka: health centers), good doctors and pain meds!
