A New Christmas this year...2011

One thing I always told Scott when we got married was that I really wanted to 'stay home' at Christmas when we started having children. We had Adeline a little over 2 years ago, but opted to continue to go out of town to see family since she was still so little. This year was different. This year, she is going to start having memories of her own. This year - we stay home! :)

Stockings hung on the chimney (with care). ;)

If you think I say that with a little attitude, you would be correct. I was excited. Something new for our little family of '4'. Something special for us to share together, to start our new family traditions...

As a kid, we never really did stockings and I always wanted to. This, will not be overlooked for our kiddos. You never know the special treat that might be in there!

Christmas Eve - we had the opportunity to get together with our dear friends, The Fohr's. We went to Christmas Eve service, came back to their place and shared dinner together, some wonderful fellowship and then off to see some Christmas lights. After we got home and tucked the little ones in bed, me & Scott got to wrapping. Oh yes, Santa was still on his way! :)

Addy & Aubrey

We took our time waking up in the morning. Thankfully the kids are little and weren't dying to open gifts. Addy woke up, walked down the stairs and noticed all the presents under the tree. She said 'Santa came!' Coffee in hand, we all snuggled up on the couch while Scott read the Christmas story from the Bible. Afterwards, Adeline gave us a little show of herself singing before the opening began! I think she sung just about every song she knew....so cute! This year, Ads got to open gifts for her and her brother - what a treat! Books, pj's, toys (doctor kit and vaccum for Adeline & activity tube & Dr. Suess fish bowl to name a couple). Paper everywhere, laughter, Christmas music, a special feeling all around. It was wonderful, just wonderful. AND, that was just the morning!!! Homemade breakfast followed. Listened to our pastor's Christmas sermon on line. Spent the entire day just loving being together as a family with no agenda other than to be with the ones we love most.

Adeline & Graham - Christmas morning
 Graham's 1st Christmas!
Santa's BEST helper!!! And cutest, too!

Trying on her new things! I just loved how she wasn't in a hurry to open the next gift. Every gift she opened she wanted to open it up completely, take it out of the box, try it on or play with it. Now, that's how you appreciate gifts! If only this holds up in years to come...LOL
Baby G with one of his new toys.

Ads playing doctor with her new kit.
We call her Dr. Snodgrass (she always makes sure to put her name tag on!)

Ended the night with mommy & daddy sharing a bottle of wine. Best Christmas yet! Thank you Jesus for giving us so very much to be thankful for - not just this Christmas, but every day.
